Lauki Chips Recipe | Bottle Gourd Crisps Recipe
Bottle Gourd, popularly known as Lauki. This vegetable has a neutral taste and flavour, due to which it is not loved by everyone. Those who don’t like Bottle Gourd can relish it in this Lauki Chips Recipe.
Lauki has numerous health benefits and is good to include bottle gourd in your daily diet. Lauki juice has been suggested by doctors for its various medicinal properties. Lauki acts as a hydrating agent which is good for stomach and is easy to digest. It helps in controlling high blood pressure, diabetes, curing liver and kidney problems.

Ingredients for Lauki Chips Recipe
- 1 Bottle Gourd (washed, peeled and cut into round shapes)
- Amchur / Dry Mango Powder
- Red chilli Flakes/ Powder
- Salt to taste
- Chaat Masala to sprinkle
- Oil for cooking
Method to make Lauki Chips Recipe
Step 1: Wash, peel and slice the bottle gourd into round shapes. If you want to deep fry, then keep the slices slightly thick. For shallow fry (dry roast), keep the slices little thin.
Step 2: Sprinkle salt on the slices and keep aside for 5-6 minutes.
Step 3: Take a flat fry pan and heat a tablespoon of oil in it. Once the oil is hot, place the bottle gourd slices carefully in the pan and sprinkle turmeric powder over them. (Oil may get sputter, so be careful)
Step 4: Cook well and keep changing from both the sides till the slices turn brown. Drain on tissue paper and sprinkle red chilli powder, chaat masala and dry mango powder over them. (Don’t sprinkle too much chaat masala and amchur powder).
Step 5: Serve Lauki Chips as a snack or pair it with dal and rotis.
