Aloo Soya Matar Gravy |Soya Nuggets Potatoes and Green Peas Curry Recipe
A delicious and high protein dish which is very easy to make. Mini soya nuggets can be a good combination with green peas and comes out to be a very flavourful and new style sabzi. Soya chunks can be used in many recipes and making different rice, pulao and biryani preparations. This recipe is a great way of adding high protein in diet and a good option for vegetarians. You can use either fresh green peas or frozen peas in the recipe. I have used fresh green peas and soaked soya chunks for half an hour before making. - 1 ½ cup soya nuggets chunks, soaked
- 1 cup green peas
- 1 potato, peeled and diced
- 1 large onion, finely chopped
- 2 tomatoes, pureed
- 1 teaspoon ginger garlic paste
- 1 green chili
- 1 teaspoon cumin seeds
- 2 cloves
- 1/4 teaspoon fenugreek seeds
- 1/2 teaspoon turmeric powder
- 1/2 teaspoon red chili powder
- Asafoetida- A pinch
- 1 teaspoon coriander powder
- 1/2 teaspoon garam masala
- 1 tablespoon fresh cream/ yogurt
- Salt to Taste
- 1/2 teaspoon sugar
- Fresh coriander leaves for garnishing
Method to cook Aloo Soya Matar Gravy Recipe
Step 1: Soak soya chunks in warm water for 30 minutes. Squeeze out all the water and keep aside. Peel the green peas and potatoes also.
Step 2: Heat oil in a pressure cooker, add cumin seeds, fenugreek seeds and cloves. Once they splutter, add onions and ginger garlic paste and saute till the raw smell goes away.
Step 3: Add tomato puree, turmeric powder, red chili powder, coriander powder and asafoetida and mix well. Then, add fresh cream and salt and stir till the masala starts to separate oil from the edges.
Step 4: Add potatoes, soya chunks, and green peas and mix well. Sprinkle some garam masala and sugar and stir for 5 minutes.
Step 5: Pour ½ cup of water, cover the lid and cook for 2 whistles on high flame.
Step 6: Once the pressure is released, open the lid and transfer the dish into a serving bowl and serve hot with rotis.
