A Punjabi Style Aloo French Beans Recipe- Cooked with basic spices, potatoes and green french beans.
A very quick, healthy and tasty dish. It is a good option for office lunch along with Phulkas. This is no onion no garlic beans recipe and does not take much time. Sometimes we can have it as a snack. The beans sabzi tastes wonderful and my kid love to have it. - 250 grams French beans
- 2 medium sized potatoes
- 1 teaspoon cumin seeds
- 1/2 teaspoon turmeric powder
- 1/2 teaspoon red chilli powder
- 1/2 teaspoon coriander powder
- 1/4 teaspoon fenugreek seeds
- 1/2 teaspoon garam masala
- Asafoetida (Hing)- a pinch
- 1-2 teaspoon lemon juice
- 1/2 teaspoon besan
- Salt to taste
Method to make Aloo French Beans Recipe
Step 1: First wash, clean and cut the French beans and potatoes. Heat oil in a pan, add cumin seeds, asafoetida and fenugreek seeds. When they start to crackle, add sliced potatoes and saute them for 2 minutes.
Step 2: Add French beans and stir fry them for 7-8 minutes on low flame.
Step 3: Add turmeric powder, red chili powder, coriander powder and salt to taste. Mix well all the ingredients and let the vegetable half cook for 5-6 minutes.
Step 4: Once the vegetables are half cooked, add some besan. Then, cover the lid and let the veggies cook well till the raw smell of besan goes away.
Step 5: Remove the lid, pour lemon juice and garam masala. Stir well. Serve it hot with rotis and along with side yellow dal tadka.
